Moraga Juniors work to improve the quality of life for women, children and elderly through volunteer service and fundraising in Contra Costa County and the Greater Bay Area. Through our volunteer work, we strengthen bonds in the community and make new friends.
Moraga Juniors is a member of the California Federation of Womenβs Clubs, which is affiliated with the General Federation of Womenβs Clubs, an international womenβs organization dedicated to community improvement by enhancing the lives of others through volunteer service.
MJWC is run by and for its members. Every member contributes to the club via participation in its major events and through various βjobsβ within the organization. Without the hard work that each member provides, members of the club would not have as much fun nor be able to give as much as we do back to the greater community.

About Us
Moraga Junior Womenβs Club (MJWC) is a philanthropic and social organization. Each year, club members provide their time and resources to host at least two large events which are open to the community: the Hometown Hoedown in the fall and the Spring Egg Hunt. These events are the major fundraiser for our beneficiary selected for the year. The proceeds of these events are donated to our selected beneficiary, as well as to Moraga schools and local organizations chosen by our membership.
Over the past three decades the Moraga Junior Womenβs Club has become a highly respected community service organization, with one of the most active memberships of any single Junior Womenβs Club in all of California.
Members of the Moraga Junior Womenβs Club live in βLamorindaβ primarily (Moraga, Orinda and Lafayette, California). Membership is open, and the club invites anyone to join without regard to age, race, color, religious affiliation, gender, sexual orientation, or national origin. The MJWC is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization, governed by an elected board,
Living in a small community like Moraga is the common bond that brings Moraga Junior Womenβs Club (MJWC) members together. In addition to the clubβs philanthropic efforts, it also hosts many social events. These range from monthly book club meetings, to regular ladiesβ nights (yes, including bunco!), couplesβ wine tasting, a Holiday Bazaar, and the Hometown Hoedown.
Community
Monthly meetings are held to discuss club business; we meet socially before and after our meetings to strengthen the bonds of our members, and to foster deep and continuing friendships. We also hosts social events through the year for members only. While each year brings new ideas, some of our popular past activities have included: wine tastings: family picnic; a date-night scavenger hunt; and a winter cookie decorating party for our children.
Philanthropy
While the club hosts these major fundraising events, members also provide support and resources for other programs throughout the year. These include but are not limited to weekly Meals on Wheels deliveries, making goodie bags for patients at Childrenβs hospital, and deliveries of comfort pillows to women recovering from breast cancer. Club members put on various drives to provide supplies for local organizations in need, as well.
